Introduction

Take water at 3 different temperatures (5C, 15C and room temperature) in separate glasses and leave them on a table next to each other for 10 minutes. Observe and record what you see on each of the glasses after 10 minutes.

Video Overview

    • Be careful with the glasses

  1. Assemble 3 transparent glass glasses/beakers Fill the first one with ice cold water (i.e. cold water with ice cubes in it), second glass with cold refrigerated water and the third glass with room temperature tap water.

    • Set aside glasses for 10 minutes and observe the surface of the 3 glasses.

  2. You should see water droplets condense on the surface of the glass that contains ice cold water. You may see very tiny water droplets condense on the surface of the glass that contains cold water. There should be no condensation on the surface of the glass that contains tap water.
