Introduction

Make a cat using a matchbox and springy paws - made with paper strips and beads - such that when you fan some breeze over the feline, it happily springs forward!

    • Handle scissors with care.

  1. Remove the drawer from an empty match box. This will be the cat’s body. Cut one rectangle out of the match box cover. Apply glue on its boundaries. Use this to cover the open surface of the drawer ( the cat's body ) .

  2. Draw a 6cm x 4cm  rectangle. Divide it's breadth into 4 equal parts. Cut each part out using  scissors. Take one of the four strips and apply glue at one end of the strip.

  3. Place the  light seed shell/bead over the glued area and wrap to make the cat’s paws. Make four such paws. Make four such paws.

  4. Glue the four legs to the match box drawer as shown. Fix cat's face and tail. Fix cat's face and tail.

    • Place the cat on the ground and fan it with a notebook/newspaper. The cat will jump on its springy feet.

    • The paws are too long or too short.
