Introduction

A simple way to show different types of hooves/feet adaptations of hooved mammals living in different habitats

    • Exercise caution when using the scissor and cutter.

    • Be mindful of sharp edges of the bottle.

  1. Using a cutter, make an incision and cut the bottle as shown.
    • Using a cutter, make an incision and cut the bottle as shown.

    • Now, using a scissor, cut the bottle longitudinally making equal sized flaps.

    • Shorten the length of the flaps by cutting them in the direction indicated by the arrow.

    • Make a hole in the cap using scissors.

    • Insert the 4 inch bolt into the hole made as shown.

    • Screw the nut into the bolt.

    • Stuff newspaper bits into the cap to fill it up and make it solid. This makes your representation of a horse foot.

    • Hold the bolt at the top and press the cap on the sand. Notice the impressions made.

    • Remove the newspaper bits from the cap and screw the bottle cap back on to the cut bottle.

    • Stuff newspaper bits inside the bottle part to fill it up and make it solid enough. This makes your representation of a camel foot.

    • Hold the bolt at the top, press the bottle part on the sand and notice the impressions it makes.

    • The camel foot flaps should not be too long or too short.

    • Stuffing insufficient newspaper.

    • Quality of sand/mud.

    • Remove the newspaper stuffing and observe the impression it makes.
